Mays Brexit strategy: There is no Plan B

Theresa May brings the Brexit Deal again to the British Parliament, and it promises even more concessions from the EU. The Prime Minister relies on the pressure of time up to the withdrawal date. By Barbara Wesel, London.

Had ever believed someone to Plan B? The British Prime Minister did in the Parliament exactly what is expected of you, in the meantime, you just continue. As if nothing had happened, as if she had not suffered a historical defeat with your Brexit Deal in the lower house. May put increasing pressure through the course of time and the fact that their attrition tactics, will bring members at the end of the turn.

Plan B Plan A is

Theresa May was in front of their members reasonably obvious: you have held talks with other parties and now wanted to hear how she imagined a solution. The proposals will somehow lead to the agreement with the European Union for all pages is acceptable and can be accepted. However, the Prime Minister makes no concessions in the matter, insisting on their red lines.

So it rejects once more the requirement to remain in a customs Union with the EU, which would solve the Central Problem with the Backstop extent, the reinsurance of the Irish border. The British citizens would not have voted in the Referendum in 2016, declared May to again and again. However, this is an unproven statement, because the question was not on the ballot. May speaks and acts here solely for the interests of the hard Brexiteers in their own party.

Instead, they tried now, the Opposition calls on the EU to include the Irish Backstop yet, yet somehow give in. What do you want to know is, what Change would make the termination agreement for the parties to digest. Also, this question is of course directed mainly at the company’s own ranks, the Brexiteer rebels and the Northern Irish DUP.

The EU should give in to

Basically, the strategy of Theresa May comes down to this: you want to put the members under so much pressure that at the end, contrary to their own views of the exit agreement but agree and since there are EU supporters, a representative of a soft Brexit and hard-hitting Tory Brexiteers. After Mays will of the parliamentarians to approve the agreement at the second attempt, in order to prevent a No-Deal and to get the issue off the table. Anyone who wants to avoid that, the UK also crashes without a contract from the EU, must support the agreement, repeatedly May like a mantra.

The weekend had come from may’s official residence, 10 Downing Street, the diffuse idea to conclude a separate agreement with Ireland, in order to solve the border issue in a different way. This half-baked approach, but was shot to pieces quickly on all sides, also from Brussels. The government in London, denied flight, and is thrown back to the old attempt to move the leaders of the EU to relent to the Backstop.

Federal Foreign Minister Maas: No Backstop Limit

At the point danced on Monday to the Minister, the Polish Minister of foreign Affairs from the series that inspired, you will be able to limit the Irish Backstop, perhaps, five-years meeting in Brussels. His German colleague Heiko Mass, Ireland’s Simon Coveney, and EU Commission spokesman, but rejected the idea immediately.

The EU wants to keep the ranks closed and the calls of the government in London a viable Plan, as the termination agreement may be brought by the Parliament before it is ready for new talks to be held. Only on the vague idea that you would get with concessions in the delicate Ireland, a majority of the question, perhaps, somehow, does not want to put the EU.

Time is running out

On day 67 before the official Leaving date Theresa May focuses on increasing time pressure. The final vote on the agreement should not be held as planned next Monday, but later in February, at the last possible Moment. As the negotiations with the EU are going to take place, is Theresa may’s secret.

The deputies in London, but need to decide in the next few days, whether you want to engage in the game of the Prime Minister. That’s why there are currently numerous Attempts, with their own applications, the tactics of the Prime Minister, to take over when Leaving the control. The exclusion of No-Deals to the extension of the exit date, or to softer forms of Brexit everything is on the table.

The key is to a second Referendum as a way out of the cul-de-SAC, which now has many supporters, Labour party leader Jeremy Corbyn. And the tactics, in turn, without a clear line, and still dreams of new elections. Party line in London is currently before the common good and a solution to the crisis came on Monday, a step closer.
