Eisenbichler is the source of hope

The DSV-eagle dieting to jump the hope for a German success in the new year, because once again, the German ski jumper of the four-hills-tournament with twelve athletes.

Tired, but in great shape: Markus Eisenbichler has mastered after a short night, also the last jump of the year brilliantly. The German tour-hope flew in the qualification for the new year’s jumping in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on rank four and raised hopes for the Competition on Tuesday. “I barely slept, but I’m well,” said the 27-Year-old.

Eisenbichler sailed no more than 20 hours after his strong second place in the tour-opener in Oberstdorf on 135,5 Meter, and came to the same Width as the Pole Dawid Kubacki, who showed the best jump of the day. The first Training had omitted Eisenbichler yet – also because he was up at 8.00 am in bed, but mainly because of the constant rain in Garmisch. “It was a good move that we have him carted off on the hill. So he got an hour less wet,” said national coach Werner Schuster.

Good result for the DSV-Springer

Also in good Form, Karl Geiger as the Sixth and Stephan Leyhe as the Eighth presented from the German point of view. “I’ve technically taken a step in the right direction, both jumps here have made me insanely fun. Tomorrow is a new year, everything is different,” said Geiger.

David Siegel and Richard the Friday followed on the ranks of 14 and 18. Olympic winner Andreas Wellinger and Ex-world champion Severin Freund, who had missed out on shadow mountain in the second pass, achieved despite moderate performances in the Competition. A total of twelve of the 13 German ski jumper qualified.
