Ex-German national coach Michael Skibbe has been granted a leave of absence as football coach of the national team of Greece. “We have decided to end the cooperation,” said the President of the Association, Evangelos Grammenos, on Thursday in the state radio (ERA Sport). “We would like to thank Mr. Skibbe. He is a Gentleman,” added Grammenos. The new coach of the Greek Angelos Anastasiades (65), the Association chief said.

The former Bundesliga-Coach Skibbe had trained the Greek national team since October of 2015. After the missed qualification for the 2018 world Cup and the recent disappointing performances of the 53-Year-old more and more in the criticism. The Team had lost in the in the C League of Nations League 1:2 in Hungary and 0:2 in Finland and in Estonia, and at home against Hungary, only with a lot of effort just 1:0 win.

Skibbe has made the discipline in the Team again
