Posthumous Album by Prince: Piano & A Microphone 1983

Recordings from the rehearsal room: In agreement with the right holders and the Foundation of the “Prince’s Estate” is now published on the Album “Piano & A Microphone in 1983”. So close was the Prince.

In June 2018, the Prince would have become 60 years old. To the dismay of his millions of Fans worldwide, he died suddenly two years ago.

Now he is for the duration of 35 minutes. Very close. He sits at the piano and plays Songs – just before he is world famous. If you listen to the record, one can easily imagine, sit comfortably in a chair around zulümmeln and read a book while Prince hinspielt piano things in front of you and sings. He does, as no one was different, as he was completely alone. So relaxed, so rough, so intimate it sounds.

But the fact is, there is no living room but a Studio. Behind the wheel, Don Batts, the technician, the Prince sits during the recording, a short statement (“make the voice a little quieter”).

Also a hit

Some of the Songs he plays in this Session, 1983, later known Hits, one of which is a worldwide hit, and for many the greatest Song of all time: “Purple Rain”.

“17 Days” is a year after this recording session, the B-side of “When Doves Cry”. “A Case of You” is, exceptionally, not a Prince Song, he has covered this song by Joni Mitchell and “Strange Relationship” is to appear in 1987 on the Album “Sign O’ The Times”.

“Mary Don’t You Weep” is already on the Prince’s birthday on 7. June has been published. He shows here his incredible range – all of the voting colours and voting heights, which he dominated. He sends the listener in this Song due to its complete Prince-the universe, on a roller-coaster of moods and passion.

One of the previously-unknown Prince-photos

Other Songs like “Cold Coffee & Cocaine” were regularly released, so there is to discover yet Unknown on the Album. In the Booklet, private, previously unpublished photos of Prince.

Workaholic

More than 1000 Songs should have written Prince – many of them under a Pseudonym (picture gallery) -, many of which are still not published.

Because he left no will behind, it had to be clarified before the release of “Piano & A Microphone in 1983,” once the legal issue in court. His sister, as well as a further five and a half have been siblings as heirs. And the holding hands. Posthumously, two Best-of Compilations have been released so far.

With the new Album, Fans now have a real treasure from the Prince’s estate in the hands. Intimate, playful, with infinite feeling – of a musical genius that doesn’t know at the time how famous it will be.
