Never before had so many refugees came at once to Germany as 2015 and 2016. Many will have to go, others return on a voluntary basis. Were deported about 45,000 people in two years.

Deportations to Afghanistan are subject to dispute – again and again it ends up in the headlines. Management agreement in 2016 have been sent since the Return of only 106 Afghans back (Stand: 31. May 2017) – a few in comparison to the returns in countries such as Albania or Kosovo. But deportations in the war zone of Afghanistan are not many of the people in Germany to understand. Also, the parties in the Bundestag are at odds, advocate for a systematic deportation practice challenge, while Green, Left, and also some of the SPD politicians, deportations to Afghanistan consistently reject.

The Federal Republic of Germany, since the refugee crisis in 2016 to focus on the principle of “voluntary departure”: Rejected asylum seekers can get for their return to their home support from the German state – financial, as well as in the Form of advice. Often, there is hardly an Alternative: anyone Who is not yourself, the deport – without a money grant. But there are also people who are still in the middle of the procedure, can apply for support to return programmes. The most used program is the REAG/GARP programme of the international organization for Migration (IOM). Depending on the nationality of the cost of travel, additional travel allowance, and a one-time start-up assistance can be paid. An example: The start-up assistance for Afghans is 500 Euro per adult, in the case of people from Egypt at 300 Euro.

The number of voluntary returns with the assistance has increased significantly in recent years. About 35,000 people got 2015 support grants increased from 2016 to approximately 54,000 people. The Western Balkan countries are among the most common countries of Return. About 17,000 Albanians, some 6,000 Serbs and 5,400 Kosovars took advantage of the return program. However, in the case of the Afghans, which are often under threat of deportation, decided about 3,300 people for the REAG/GARP.

Not all can stay

Since February of 2017, there is, in addition, the return incentive program “start Plus”. 1200 Euro gets, who decides, prior to the completion of the asylum procedure on return and his asylum application. 800 euros will be paid if the applicant, after receiving a negative decision, decide within the period for Departure, to return, and no appeals. For the financing of the Federal government has set for the year 2017 in addition to 40 million euros.

Dublin procedure: deportation in the EU

The number of removals is well below the number of returnees. A total of 2016 to around 25,000 people were deported. A little more than 2015. The main countries are the Western Balkans States with about 6000 deportations to Albania, 5,000 in Kosovo and around 3,800 to Serbia. Also, EU countries appear in the statistics. So, around 1,100 people were deported to Italy and 400 people to Spain. This is probably due to the Dublin procedure ( Dublin III) accordingly, the European country is responsible for asylum seekers was first registered.

Little Chance of protection

For the people concerned a deportation means high emotional Stress. Publicly, almost no one likes to talk. If people decide for a voluntary return, they have also often been an ordeal. Many have give up the hope to find in Germany for a Job and in society to arrive, as an adviser to the Maltese relief organization. For example, Mohammed Ajmeer, which comes from Kashmir – a disputed territory in Pakistan. 8000 dollars, and it cost him the trip to Germany, but now he wants to go back to. “I thought I had a good chance and would find a Job here.” But he lost his Motivation, when he heard that he has little chances of being granted asylum. Now his mother is also ill, as the eldest son he feels obliged to support her.
