Lower ticket prices, more profit: Europe’s largest low-cost airlines has increased in the past fiscal year. The tough price competition between Airlines continues, but Ryanair waives on long distance.

The bottom line of the profit of Ryanair rose by six percent to € 1.3 billion, as the Irish announced low-cost airline on Tuesday. Customers would have to pay in this period for a flight ticket, on average, 13 percent less. Ryanair, the passenger numbers the largest European airline.

The price war for Tickets, and the weak British pound is not passed to Ryanair without a trace. Due to the fall in ticket price, sales rose only two percent to 6.6 billion euros, although the number of passengers rose by 13 percent to 120 million. The average ticket cost last year, 41 Euro.

Suppliers instead of long-distance

For the to March 2018 current fiscal year, the Irish aim prices on a profit plus in the case of a further decline in flight. However, the price will have a slow decline to five to seven percent. After years of falling prices for airline tickets competitors had reported recent signs of a stabilization of the rates. The number of Ryanair passengers is expected to rise to 130 million.

A successful Ryanair with its so-called pure point-to-point strategy, so the direct flight connections between individual destinations, especially in Europe, without a private network. Thereof, has adopted the Airline in the meantime. But unlike other low-cost airline Ryanair for the future is not stretch on its own. Instead want to make the Irish as a supplier to other Airlines is essential.
