Europol takes 292 domain names seized for illegal sale

Europol, in cooperation with several international parties have seized 292 domain names. It would go to websites that have all sorts of counterfeit products, sold to unsuspecting customers.

The netherlands has, according to the declaration no portion of the surgery broke. Countries such as Belgium, France, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom have, however, a share had it, and in addition, American organizations such as ICE and HSI have been involved. The authorities have since August of notifications about the illegal activities received from brand owners, and that messages are passed on to the participating countries.

In total, 292 domain names seized because illegal counterfeit products were sold through sites that were using the domain names. It would mostly go to more luxurious products, but also sportswear, electronics, movies, and music. The domain names are in the hands of the authorities involved. If a person one of the websites, he or she receives a notification about the measure to be presented, and visitors are also informed about the crime that is committed when the copyright is violated. Some websites are not at all more to visit.

Europol has already similar actions are performed. So it was in 2013, the Dutch police action involved. In total, in June last year, 328 domain names out of the air is removed, because the sites are guilty of would make on the sale of counterfeit goods.
