Mac mini’s with Haswell processors come out with starting price of 519 euro

After two years Apple new models of the Mac mini to be announced. These are equipped with Intel Haswell processors, some with an Iris gpu. Furthermore, support for wifi 802.11 ac and Thunderbolt connectors. The sale starts Thursday, right away.

Apple described the new Mac Mini during the presentation as “the most efficient desktop” in terms of energy consumption, although no precise consumption figures were given. The core of the Mac Mini is at the three base models a Haswell processor from Intel.

The cheapest model 519 has a Core i5 dual-core with a clock speed of 1.4 GHz with HD Graphics 5000 gpu, in combination with 4GB ddr3 and a hdd of 500GB. A model with a Core i5 with a clock speed of 2.6 GHz and Iris gpu will cost 719 euros and for that amount you also get 8GB of memory and a hdd of 1TB. The most expensive model is a variant with a Core i5 with a clock speed of 2.8 GHz and Iris gpu, which also has 8GB memory but it also offers a Fusion drive of 1TB. The Fusion drive is Apple’s name for a hdd by flashcache. This variant of the Mac mini costs 1019 euro.

For the laying of connections two Thunderbolt ports and a hdmi port and wireless connections can be established with wi-fi 802.11 ac. Furthermore, there are still four usb ports and an ethernet connection.

The new Mac Mini comes two years after Apple released the latest model announced. Normally refreshed the company from Cupertino, are products each year. Customers can the Mac Mini with Haswell processor to buy straight away, for a starting price of 519 euros.
