Intel provided last quarter, 100 million processors. Not know before the chipgigant as many processors in three months to deliver, for pcs, tablets, phones and servers. Intel posted good results in the quarter and achieved a record revenue.

Intel has compared to last year, partly thanks to the recovery of the pc sales revenue and profit recorded in the last quarter. The mobile division of the chipgigant remains, however, kwakkelen with a loss of a billion dollars, converted to 790 million euros. The division achieved a turnover of just one million dollars, or 790.000 euros. According to Intel, that was ‘expected’. Intel pays manufacturers to use its socs. The group calls this ‘contra revenue’ and hopes foot on the ground to get in on a market that is dominated by ARM.

With pc chips obtained Intel, however, a turnover of 9.2 billion dollars, either 7,28 billion euros, which was 9 percent more than last year. Probably plays the stop of Windows XP by Microsoft a role: for this reason decided a lot of consumers and organizations, new systems to purchase. Processors for pc’s still make two-thirds of the revenue of Intel.

A quarter of the revenue comes from chips for data centers. The quarterly turnover of this industry grew by 16 percent compared to last year. Intel bet big on chips for the internet-of-things-applications. The sales for that branch grew by 14 percent to 530 million dollars, converted to 419 million euros.

Eventually, the quarterly turnover on record of 14.6 billion dollars, or 11.5 billion euro, which was 8 percent higher than last year. The profit amounted to 3.3 billion dollars, compared to 2.6 billion euros, and the profit was 12 percent.
