HP unveils all-in-one pc with 3d scanner, touchmat and projector

HP has a striking all-in-one computer named Sprout announced. The system includes ge lwa in dieptecamera to 3d – and 2d-scans, is associated with a large touchmat and includes a projector for projection on that mat.

HP focuses on with the Sprout to the graphics professional, but also on games and other creative applications, and the company calls the system a creativity station. The basis of the system is an all-in-one with a 23″touchscreen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The Sprout runs Windows 8.1, the processor is a Core i7-4790S, 8GB ddr3 memory and the graphics card is a Nvidia GeForce GT 745A. Furthermore, there is a hybrid storage drive with capacity of 1TB and 8GB flashcache present. On the back is hdmi, a gigabit ethernet port and two usb ports, while to the sides two usb ports and the media card reader.

The Sprout with a magnetic vastgekoppelde mat with a diagonal of 20 inches is provided. This touchmat is touch-sensitive and a beamer that is connected to the screen projects images on the surface, such as a keyboard. In addition, HP will provide a separate keyboard. The part where the projector is processed, also contains cameras for the 3d – and 2d-scanning of objects and images.

HP calls the projector/camera system HP Illuminator, and the component consists of a dlp projector in combination with a camera of 14.6-megapixelresolutie and a dieptecamera that uses Intel’s RealSense technology for recognizing objects.

HP offers a variety of apps that can take advantage of the great touchmat, such as a piano app, the keys on the matte display and the notes on the screen, and in games where the touchbediening through the surface with the projection runs. The manufacturer encourages third parties to apps for the system to develop and, among other, Wacom, Huion and Tercom have already done so. HP brings the Sprout 9 november in the US for an amount of 1900 dollars, equivalent to about 1500 euros. About an introduction in the Benelux, nothing is yet known.
