AMD has the prices of its Radeon R9 290 and 290X lowered. The manufacturer does with the R9 290 and R9 290X about a quarter of the price. With the price reduction will the AMD video cards more attractive.
In the Pricewatch of Tweakers seem to be price reductions not yet implemented: the cheapest R9 290X costs around 370 euros, but that price is there already. WccfTech has the reductions already seen in several international retailers. The R9 290 goes from 399 to 299 dollars, while the 290X from 549 to 399 dollars. How that prices in euros will be lower, it is not yet known.
With the price reduction will the AMD cards more attractive and the competition to be put under pressure. Competitor Nvidia recently released the GTX980 and 970. The graphics cards from AMD came a long time ago; the R9 290X came in October last year.
