The administrators of the Freenode network of irc servers, most users have discovered that unauthorized access to some of the systems are invaded. All users of the largest irc network must have their password changes as a precautionary measure.
The administrators of the Freenode discovered in the night from Saturday to Sunday that there is a single irc server was compromised by an unknown party. After research appeared to be more servers similar problems to show. The administrators have those systems, then taken offline.
“As network traffic eavesdropping may be, we encourage everyone to NickServ password as a precaution”, write the administrators. More details about the hack gives the Freenode team yet, but they promise more updates to come.
It is not the first time that Freenode with a hack today. In 2006 knew a hacker with the alias Ratbert large parts of the network to hijack, rights of administrators, including that of founder Robert Levin to take over and exploits to send to users via dcc send.
