Scientists from Harvard University, going to a ‘soft’ exoskeleton developing under clothing can be worn. The wearer can with the exoskeleton and heavier things to lift and has to walk more stamina.

Harvard University reports that a research budget of 2.9 million dollars, converted to 2.2 million euros, has received from Darpa, the onderzoekstak of the U.s. department of defense. With the money needs an exoskeleton to be developed; an exoskeleton is an external skeleton which the carrier is supported. The most striking feature of the project of Harvard is the fact that it is a ‘soft’ exoskeleton suit. According to scientists, can the clothing be worn while exoskeletten usually made of a hard material, are heavier, and therefore uncomfortable to wear.

The Harvard-developed exoskeleton has many sensors that movements of the carrier measure. By using the input to analyze the exoskeleton predict which movements are made and the manner in which the suit to support it. Thus the carrier ‘stronger’ and he or she will also have more stamina. Further, it is the exoskeleton and fitting made by the use of specially developed forms of textiles. The scientists hope eventually that the user’s actions do not notice that he or she is supported by the suit.

Of the so-called Soft Exosuit is a prototype developed. Ultimately hope the scientists and Darpa among others, soldiers with the suit, can be equipped. Also emergency services would benefit from may have. However, it is still unclear when the Soft Exosuit on the market.
