Microsoft refuses the e-mail data that the in Europe, has been saved to hand over to the United States, despite an injunction. The company claims that the e-mails will hand over as long as the appeal runs.
Late last month, a U.s. judge that Microsoft is required to in Europe saved e-mails to be handed over to the U.S. if the authorities request it. Then said the judge, however, that the data still did not have to hand over as long as the appeals process ran. Then came the court so Friday, on back.
Microsoft has e-mail data of European customers stored in data centers in Ireland. According to Microsoft, it may not be required in order to provide this information to the U.S., but the U.s. judge makes the company so to be in the wrong. The American Public Prosecutor had to e-mails that are part of a criminal investigation.
