Facebook is experimenting with a feature that users messages lets add that after a certain time are automatically deleted. This can be a message, for example, automatically after one hour to be removed.

At this moment, seems to be the function with the opportunity to messages within a period of one hour to one week are automatically deleted. The currently small-scale test that’s only available for iOS users of Facebook, let the social network know of The Next Web. It is therefore not yet possible to say whether the feature eventually to all users will be rolled out.

The functionality is reminiscent of Snapchat, where messages also can be automatically removed, but this involves much shorter periods of time. It is unclear whether the deleted messages after the expiry of their shelf life yet remain visible for the user who posted them, or that they are completely from Facebook to be removed.
