The Russian government is obliged, henceforth, users of public wi-fi hotspots to provide their passport details to fill in before they online can. With the measure, the government wants anonymous use of hotspots change.
The provider of the hotspot will be responsible for the collection of passport data, it is apparent from the text of the new law that prime minister Medvedev has signed.
