Intel buys Axxia Networking for half a billion euros

Intel has for an amount of 650 million u.s. dollars, converted approximately 486 million euros, the company Axxia Networking acquired. Axxia is, among other wireless network devices. Intel wants to use the acquisition to its position on the mobile market improve.

Axxia is part of the company LSI. This company was last year for 5 billion euro, acquired by chip maker Avago. Avago has now decided to the share of LSI to divest and sell to Intel. This will pay Intel an amount of 650 million dollars, converted approximately 486 million euros. The acquisition must still be approved by the authorities.

Axxia include socs for networking equipment. With the acquisition of Axxia get Intel wireless network technology in the hands. Intel has been for some time engaged, among other things through acquisitions to its position on the rapidly growing market for mobile hardware to reinforce.
