Google gives preview of ‘sport’-sdk Fit

Google has a preview released of his sports and fitness-oriented Fit-sdk. Using the sdk, developers can build apps that include history of pedometers and heart rate monitors can read.

The sdk only works on Android L, the latest version of Googles mobile operating system that users of the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 2013 on their device. With the sdk enables developers to include api’s to appeal to data about heart rate and physical activity to read on the device; those apis are not there yet. It does not matter whether the sensors on the device or on a connected wearable, such as a fitnessarmband, writes Google.

The preview of the sdk comes with new builds of Android L, which were compiled a few days after the original that already in June online. The build number is different also not much. Thus, it seems that it is going to be a small change to the preview sdk to support. The update is not over-the-air to Android L-users; flashing them requires erasing all data from the device and connecting the phone or tablet to a pc.
