European Commission, pauses acquisition-research Ziggo

The European Commission investigation into the takeover of Ziggo by UPC parent company Liberty Global is temporarily stopped. The commission has additional information is requested; only if that information is in, going to research further.

According to Reuters news agency his ‘new facts’ have come to light that are important for the acquisition, research, and questions. It is not clear what kind of information it goes. The European Commission, Liberty Global, the parent company of UPC, as a result of these new revelations to be more information asked, but that is not yet delivered. As long as that does not happen, is the research still.

It is unclear what that means for the acquisition of Ziggo by Liberty Global. The European Commission was intending to enquire into the acquisition in October to complete; it is unclear whether that is still going to happen. A spokesman for Liberty Global said that it was good to have confidence in that the acquisition still this year, it will be approved.

Liberty Global made at the beginning of this year announced that Ziggo will take over. After the acquisition deal, Ziggo and UPC, as a single provider, under the banner of Ziggo.
