Of all the purchases in the Netherlands are done, this happens in 5 percent of the cases on the internet. That’s according to research by GfK on behalf of industry organisation Thuiswinkel.org. Internetkopers give relatively much of their money on services and less on products.

In the first quarter of this year did the Dutch 26 million orders over the internet, according to the GfK survey. That equates to a turnover of 3.7 billion euro. It is not possible to say whether the revenue from online purchases has grown: until recently, made the research that was carried out on behalf of Thuiswinkel.org use of other numbers, and it was by a different research carried out.

Although the share of online purchases represents only 5 percent of the total number of purchases in the first quarter, the revenue from online purchases down on 22 percent of the total. Especially to services is relatively many on the internet were published: that is 66 percent. For products, the share is down to 11 percent of sales. The most give internetshoppers from airline tickets.

Of all Dutch people over 15 has 76 percent in the first quarter through the internet bought something, is evident from the figures. That equates to 10.5 million internetshoppers, of which there are 250,000 in the first quarter for the first time, via the internet buying. Ninety percent of the Dutch population has ever had anything bought online.
