Apple is its own team for research speech recognition’

Apple would be doing to their own team to form that is completely going to focus on research into speech recognition. Reports that Wired on the basis of stories that circulated among researchers specializing in artificial intelligence.

Apple according to Wired, not only people at the administrative level, but also looking for team leaders and researchers who have knowledge of speech recognition and artificial intelligence. Alex Acero, a former manager at Microsoft, was last year acquired by Apple. Acero is now head of the Siri department within Apple. Furthermore, among others, Abdel-Rahman Mohamed, a researcher into artificial intelligence at the University of Toronto, and Arnab Ghosal who is a researcher at the University of Edinburgh by Apple have been contacted for a position within the company. “Apple is building a very strong team for research speech recognition,” says Mohamed.

Peter Lee, chief of the research division of Microsoft, think also that Apple will soon release a self-learning version of Siri is to come. He says that it is only a matter of time before Apple, just as its biggest competitors, will take on so-called artificial neural networks. Lee estimates that the transition is still about six months away.

Siri would now be able to use voice-recognition software from Nuance. A vacancy of Apple, which in June appeared to suggest that the speech of Apple, in all likelihood, soon will be available in English. It is now about three years ago that Siri with the iPhone 4s was introduced.
