YouTube uses now standard html5-video on recent Chrome versions

YouTube has a standard html5 video player activated for visitors who have a recent Chrome version the ability to visit. Also, these visitors will no longer have the option for a Flash player to activate.

Google is experimenting on YouTube for some time with a video player based on html5 technology. This has the advantage that no longer has the Flash plug-in needed. Chrome supports like some other browsers, html5 video for some time and until recently could Chrome users on a settings page of their preference for this video player.

With the default-activation of html5 video for YouTube visitors with a recent Chrome version, Google a major step forward with the phasing out of Flash.
