The private space SpaceX Elon Musk has his first spacecraft shown that manned flights are going to run. The Dragon V2 from SpaceX should ever have as a taxi astronauts to and from the ISS transport.

The Dragon V2 is a variant of the spacecraft that, since 2012 three times the ISS has supplied. For the transport of astronauts to and from the ISS, the space agencies are still dependent on the expensive deployment of Russian Soyuz rockets since NASA are the Space Shuttles in 2011 with retirement sent. SpaceX wants an alternative to offer. An advantage over the Soyuz is that the Dragon capsule seven astronauts can transport, where the Russian only three can bring. The Dragon V2 can autonomously or manually ‘moor’ to the ISS.

The advantage of the Dragon V2 would continue this up to ten times without servicing. After a landing would refueling be sufficient for a new flight, causing the vessel to be quickly re deployable. In addition, the Dragon V2 designed to, where on earth can countries, with the accuracy of a helicopter’, in the words of ceo Elon Musk at the unveiling of the capsule.

One of the challenges in the construction was the integration of the SuperDraco drives. These provide for the disposal of the launchers if there are problems with the launch. Normally these aandrijvingsraketten disposed of after a successful launch, but that of the Dragon are built-in. It is not known when SpaceX, the Dragon V2 will be the first time bets.
