Sony’s smartphone cradle for in-car-entertainment comes out this week

Sony brings its smartphone-cradle, which users can use as in-car entertainment system, this week. The manufacturer asked 249 dollars for his ‘car radio’, but the system seems not yet to order it in the Netherlands.

The cradle is compatible with many smartphones, including Android devices and iPhones. The connection with iPhones is established via an adapter, while Android devices via nfc or bluetooth with the device can connect.

With the cradle, the user can use the touchscreen of the phone in combination with an app to use as in-car entertainment system, which, among other things, the radio can be operated or music from the phone over the car speakers can be played.

Sony’s own Xperia smartphones have the advantage that they during the drive load. That is done via the ‘pogo pins’, that magnetic charge in such accessories.
