Russian rocket with advanced communications satellite explodes

A Russian Proton M rocket with an advanced communications satellite on board shortly after launch exploded. The destroyed satellite had, among other remote areas in Russia of the internet.

The Proton-M rocket was launched from the Russian base Bajkonoer in Kazakhstan. After a small nine minutes blew up the rocket at an altitude of about 150 km. Parts of the rocket came down in Siberia and in the Pacific Ocean, but there are no reports of victims or damage, so message Reuters.

The exact cause for the explosion is not yet clear, but the Russian space agency Roscosmos thinks that there are problems with the steering mechanism at the third part of the drietrapsraket.
