OpenStreetMap sdk offers developers access to offline maps

Telenav, the company that of the OpenStreetMap program, a counterpart of Google Maps, has an sdk released with new capabilities for developers. So they use the sdk to build apps that have offline maps.

The sdk listens to the name Scout for Developers and provides maps based on the OpenStreetMap program. In OpenStreetMap, the information, in this case maps, by volunteers, have been proposed. Via Scout for Developers can map data of OpenStreetMap in third-party applications be used, where maps for offline use can be saved. The api can also be used for turn-by-turn navigation, while it also can be used in on websites, maps to show, for example, as a replacement for embedded Google Maps.

Telenav promises on the basis of own data files the map data of OpenStreetMap to further improve, for example, by one-way traffic in certain streets. The American company has also announced that the maps of OpenStreetMap in iOS-navigation equipment Scout. Used until now, the company even maps of TomTom. In June, must also have the Android version of Scout switching to Osm. Further, the company has Strava announced the OpenStreetMap maps.
