The Novena laptop, made entirely of open source components is constructed and logically only open-source software running in production now that the financ lwa le goal of a quarter million dollars on the crowdfunding platform Crowdsupply is achieved.

The Novena laptop is composed of several fully-documented components, including the Freescale iMX6-quad-core, which at 1.6 GHz is clocked. The motherboard accommodates ddr3 so-dimms and contains, besides the necessary connectors, including usb 2.0 and hdmi, a touch screen controller and mini-pci-express-slot. Also gigabit ethernet and an sd card reader are present. The laptop comes with an 802.11 n-wi-fi-module, and 4GB ram. The builders deliver the Novena with a ssd capacity of 240GB, which Debian is installed.

Via the crowdfunding platform Crowdsupply have the creators of the Novena project with the passing of the boundary of $ 250,000 is sufficient money collected to the hardware in production.
