IBM details its Power8-chip architecture to third parties with the ability to provide own designs on the basis of the technology. The decision comes from the sleeve of the OpenPower Foundation, where in addition to IBM, Google, and Samsung.
The step means that the other members of the OpenPower Foundation technology of the Power8-chip architecture license.
