A registration of an ‘.flanders’ or ‘.brussels’domain, more than twenty euros per year. The price of one ‘.gent’domain, approximately in the same price range. This is evident from the wholesale price of the domains.

DNS Belgium will registrars 20 euro per year for a domain that ends with .vlaanderen or .brussels, reports Datanews. The organization, that these domains just like the .be-zone manages, delivers domains not directly to customers, as usual for a registry. Because the registrars have their own margin on top of that 20 euro will count, are the prices that customers ultimately for a domain to pay probably at least a few euros higher. The organization behind it .ghent-domain 15 to $ 20 per year charge for registration.

Brand owners who are part of a special program, the Trademark Clearinghouse, previously all for 400 euro .vlaanderen or .brussels-register domain. Other brand owners, companies and governments can do that later for 100 euro. After the first year payment they also at least 20 euro.

The prices per year are much higher than one .be-domain registrars 3 euro per year cost. That’s according to the director of DNS Belgium, Philis-Du-Bois, inter alia because the organisation expected that fewer domains will be registered, while there was an infrastructure must be set up.

Also, the organisation must invest in the domains. The domain names are part of a program of Icann, the dns root zone manages to set up its own top-level-domain. That cost 185.000 dollars, plus $ 25,000 per year.
