Wolfson introduces audio card for Raspberry Pi

Wolfson Microelectronics has a sound card for the Raspberry Pi developed. The device makes it possible to use the Pi hd audio play and record. The accessory costs converted 33 euros.

The Wolfson Audio Card is Tuesday, officially announced by the manufacturer. The card uses the 8-pinsaansluiting introduced in model B of the device. The sound card is capable of 24-bitsgeluid with a sample rate of up to 192kHz to execute via analog 3.5 mm output or digitally via s/pdif. With regard to imports, has the sound card over onboard two microphones, an analog 3.5 mm input and a s/pdif input.

The Raspberry Pi Sound Card is currently only available at the website of Element14. The developer, Wolfson Microelectronics is a British designer of audio chips. Sound chips of the company found their way into the iPod, the original Xbox and some models of the iPhone.
