Samsung introduces 13″-Chromebook with full-hd display and octacore

Samsung has two new Chromebooks with Exynos chips has been announced. There will be a new instance with a 11.6″screen and a octacore-Exynos but Samsung also brings his first-13,3″-Smartphone with octacore and a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.

Samsung let the Windows laptops for the mainstream – and instapmarkt left, but it comes with new Chromebooks. To the new generation to indicate does the manufacturer the term ‘Samsung Chromebook 2’.

The most striking features of the new models is the use of stitched pleather for the cover, that Samsung also takes in some of the tablets and the Note smartphones. The 11.6″variants come in white and in black, and 11.6 mm thick with a weight of 1.2 kilos.

The resolution is still 1366×768 pixels, and there are still 2GB ddr3 and 16GB emmc storage. The processor is however, the Samsung Exynos 5 Octa E5420, a octacore with a clock speed of 1.9 GHz. The gpu is the Mali T628 MP6. The current Chromebook from Samsung has an Exynos 5250-dual-core with a clock speed of 1.7 GHz.

The new version also has support for bluetooth 4.0 LE and a wireless 2×2 network card with support for wi-fi-ac, although this support only at a later stage via a software update is added. There are hdmi, a usb 2.0 port and a usb 3.0 port, and corporate security is a tpm. The battery has a capacity of 30Wh. The suggested retail price of the Samsung Chromebook 2 with an 11.6″screen is 329 euro.

In addition, Samsung is a larger version with a 13″screen and a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. This model has the faster Exynos 5 Octa E5800 with a clock speed of 2.1 GHz on board. The gpu is unknown. Also, there is 4GB ddr3 and the battery capacity of 35.6 Wh is greater than that of the 11.6″-Chromebook. The thickness is 16.5 mm and the weight is 1,39 pounds. The other specifications are the same. This model comes only in grey, for a suggested retail price of 399 euros. The new Chromebooks come in at the end of april in the Netherlands.
