Lufthansa lets passengers stream movies to tablets and laptops

Airline Lufthansa allow passengers from this summer on, multimedia stream to own equipment that they bring on board. Via wi-fi, passengers receive access to the offer of the airline.

Jens Bischof, who at Lufthansa works as chief commercial officer, made the plans, according to Reuters known. From this summer a number of aircraft the company is equipped with a multimedia server via onboard wifi access for passengers. They can therefore have their own devices, such as tablets and smartphones, among other films that Lufthansa will be offered.

To multimedia content offer allows Lufthansa to use a system that is delivered by BoardConnect, a system that is already longer by Virgin Australia is used. The streaming capability is in the place of screens in the device itself. Initially, the multimedia content from Lufthansa will be available on 20 Airbus 321 aircraft that Lufthansa owns. These are used on routes from Europe to Russia, the Middle East and North Africa.
