Philips and Ericsson combine smart led lighting and breedbandnetwerkapparatuur in street lighting. The combination should cities cost savings through lower fuel consumption benefits, while the coverage may increase.
According to Philips and Ericsson ensures continued growth of cities to ensure that expansion of the network capacity is still necessary and sustainable lighting for streets is needed. The new lampposts of the companies would kill two birds in one stone.
Philips provides the poles of smart controls, which the cities makes possible the illumination at a distance to manage.
