Former publisher blootblad sues Leaseweb for 136 million euros

A former publisher of an American blootblad suing the Dutch hoster Leaseweb for hosting images that autersrechten violate. The publisher, Perfect 10, will be converted to 136 million euros from the Dutch hoster.

The former publisher of the blootblad, which now are mainly to make money with settlements by charges, says that Leaseweb nine sites that host or have hosted on which images owned by Perfect 10 to would be seen from the indictment, that is filed with a court in the Us state of California. It comes in total to more than 22,000 pictures.

Perfect 10 claims that in the past year a total of thirteen requests has been submitted to the images to delete. It is unknown what is Leaseweb, with those requests done; it is customary to send to the site owners, and all the pictures offline. The indictment speaks not only about sites that are online, but also about two years ago, offline extracted Megaupload.

Leaseweb said in a response opposite to Torrentfreak that it does not understand why Perfect 10’s complaint has filed in the United States. Most sites take hosting off at the Dutch branch of Leaseweb and are therefore covered by Dutch legislation, claims to be the hoster. The lawsuit would be according to the company in the Netherlands.
