Nvidia: GeForce 820M is not on the new Maxwell gpu based

Nvidia has the GeForce 820M gpu for laptops to its range, but this first video chip in the 800M-line is not a new gpu-generation based. It is going to be a rebrand of the GF117, which on the current Kepler architecture based.

Nvidia has recently quietly the GeForce 820M on his site. This is the first video chip in the new 800M line will be released. At the same time, made some sites, such as Fudzilla, notification of the arrival of an entry-level gpu with typename GM117 this quarter. This would be the first gpu based on the upcoming Maxwell architecture from Nvidia. Compared to PC GamesHardware let Nvidia know the GeForce 820M, however, just around the GF117 gpu is built.

The GF117 is based on the current Kepler architecture developed and formed the heart of the GeForce 710M, 720M and some 620M models. This is a rebrand, but it is unclear yet, or Nvidia, for example, the clock speed has increased.

From a roadmap of laptopmaker Clevo fell earlier on to make that new 800M gpu’s from Nvidia are on their way. The most powerful variant, the GTX 880M with 8GB of gddr5 memory fitted, so here the name Maxwell fell, since the current on the Kepler architecture-based gpu, the GTX 780M over a maximum of 4GB. According to VideoCardz it is, however, also to a rebrand and has the GTX 880M about a Kepler GK104 gpu.
