Largest Dutch e-bookuitgever see a sale with 30 percent increase

Arbeiderspers and A. W. Bruna Publishers, the leading publisher of e-books in the Netherlands, says that the sale of its e-books this year, with 30 percent has increased. The publisher does not use Adobe drm, but this is not considered to be the reason called.

AP/AWB states that it is the past twelve months, more than 215.000 e-books sold, an increase of over 30 percent compared to 2012. The publisher claims 1700 titles as an e-book to be able to deliver compared to 1400 paper books. In the meantime, it would AP/AWB 12.8% of its revenue from the sale of e-books obtaining. An average publisher knows according to figures from GfK, a revenue share of approximately 5 percent to achieve from the selling of digital books.

The substantial increase in turnover is due to the publisher explained by a combination of ‘marktbepalende e-bookacties’ and ‘strong titles’. Short stories would do well on the Dutch e-bookmarkt. AP/AWB calls, however, not to replace the restrictive Adobe drm on its titles as a possible reason for turnover; the publisher has adopted the use of watermarks.
