The Korean telecommunications SK Telecom and LG U+ have announced that they are on the basis of lte-advanced brutosnelheden to 300Mbit/s. There should still be phones on the market that are compatible with three band carrier aggregationtechnology.

The 4g technology that the two Korean providers want to use is based on the use of three frequentieblokken, one of 20MHz in the 1.8 GHz band and two blocks of 10MHz in the 800MHz band. Therefore, according to SK Telecom and LG’s U+ speeds attainable which can be up to 300Mbit/s, the highest 4g speed around the world on a mobile network would be available. In Hong Kong provider CSL experimented with 300Mbit/s 4g via two frequentieblokken of 20MHz in the 1800MHz and 2600MHz band, but these speeds are not yet available to subscribers.

Customers of 3band lte-advanced and want to make use will take some patience should have: appropriate socs, and smartphones are expected to pass at the end of this year. Among others, Qualcomm has the Snapdragon 805-soc announced that the technology is likely to support.

At the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, in early February, SK Telecom’s lte technology demonstrate that even speeds of up to 450Mbit/s via 4g. It will be three blocks of 20MHz is used. By even more frequentieblokken to exploit could, in future, even higher speeds are possible. The current lte standard, which is currently in the Netherlands is being rolled out peaks currently at a rate of about 75Mbit/s, even though KPN and Vodafone trials with download speeds of up to 100Mbit/s on the 1800MHz band.
