Intel: Android tablets with Bay Trail soc’s to come in spring

Intel has announced that in the second quarter of this year tablets on the market that are based on principles of soc from the Bay Trail series. It is unclear yet which manufacturers with such a device.

According to Intel ceo Brian Krzanich will Bay Trial for Android-tablets in the second quarter on the scene appear, but specific details were not mentioned. They point Krzanich out that it is possible to order the chips with the Android OS on 64bit to run. Also, such tablets have a battery life of more than ten hours, though Intel no details about which battery goes with it.

With the announcement earlier rumors about the Bay Trail-soc’s for Android confirmed. To compete with ARM-based chips would be Intel’s prices have been halved. As yet there were no tablets with Android, while all of several Bay Trail models with Windows 8.1 have been announced.

It is still unclear which manufacturers with an Android-tablet based on Bay Trail. Also, it is not yet known which chips they use in the Bay Trail-series Intel has both dualcore as quadcore-soc’s released. It is plausible that the to the cheaper dualcores.
