Last Saturday, the windmills in Belgium lwa a record of wind power produced, so the Walloon organisation Apere calculated. The 615 Belgian wind turbines would be partly thanks to favourable weather conditions 1540MW to have power generated.

The record of 1540MW to renewable wind energy, from 615 wind turbines, would be good for the supply of electricity to 3.230.000 families in Belgium, or 68 percent of the total number, writes The Newspaper. Throughout the day, the power production of the wind turbines are good for 13 percent of the total energy requirements in Belgium.

The stable and strong wind of the last days would be one of the reasons for breaking the Belgian record. In addition, the country has the past months the number of wind farms increases, including several turbines in the North sea are placed.

Wind energy is on the rise in Western Europe. Notably Denmark and Germany play a leading role, while the United Kingdom more and more power moves from wind farms that mainly offshore to be constructed. The netherlands has long been reluctant, partly because according to the government the costs would be too expensive for the construction of wind farms at sea. With the recently closed energieakkoord, the government wants the construction of new offshore parks accelerate. There are plans drawn up for the construction of seven hundred to a thousand wind turbines up to 150 metres high. These mills would be around 2020 to.
