Medion brings tablet-laptop with full-hd display and wi-fi-ac for 500 euro

Medion brings a cross between a laptop and a tablet with an 11.6″screen. The hybrid device features an ips panel with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a Celeron quadcore of Intel’s Bay Trail-generation. Also, there is support for 802.11 ac wi-fi.

The Medion Akoya P2211T consists of a toetsenborddeel which a tablet you can ‘click and disconnect able,” with just one simple hand motion’, claims the manufacturer. The screen is a 11.6″touch screen with ips panel with ahva technology, AUO Optronics for better viewing angles. The resolution is 1920×1080 pixels, and a brightness sensor automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen depending on the lighting conditions.

The Akoya has a Celeron N2910 processor. This is a quad-core with a clock speed of 1.6 GHz, based on Intel’s Bay Trail platform. This fuel-efficient soc would be there along with the Li-polymeeraccu’s in both the toetsenborddeel as the tablet to ensure that the device ten hours stick to it, though it is not known what use-cases this time is measured. The weight of the tablet is 840 grams and that of the base component is 860 grams, bringing the total at 1.7 kilos it is.

The Akoya also has 64GB of flash memory in the tablet, that can be filled via the sd card reader. In the toetsenborddeel is also a hard drive of 500GB and the amount of ddr3l-ram is 4GB. Further, there are a usb 2.0 port, a usb 3.0 variant and micro-hdmi are present in the tablet and the toetsenborddeel adds two usb 2.0 ports. Finally, it has support for 802.11 ac wifi and bluetooth 4.0 via Intel’s Wireless-ac 3160 adapter.

The Medion Akoya P2211T runs Windows 8.1 and comes only with the Media Market available, for a price of 499 euros.
