The popular forum Bitcointalk to warn its users that there is past weekend may be a man-in-the-middle attack is performed in which inlogdata is captured. This would have been possible by a successful hack in to the dns registrar where Bitcointalk.

The man-in-the-middle-attack would be this weekend by an unknown hacker conducted at the Japanese registrar, Anonymous Speech. In addition, the dns data of the Bitcointalk.org-domain for a period of approximately 14 hours changed, so the domain name temporarily to a different server is referenced. This allows the attacker to transparently passwords and cookies catch to the visitors of the forum.

Because many internet users have the same passwords used on multiple sites, there is a risk that there is sensitive data of Bitcointalk users is stolen. The administrators of the forum ask that they as soon as possible their password need to change to not only Bitcointalk.org but also on other sites that equal the passwords are applied. Additionally, it is recommended to have the certificate to check because it takes time before the now corrected dns changes on all dns servers are updated.

It is not the first time that the Bitcointalk forum has become a victim of hackers. In October placed an attacker a defacement on the front page after a vulnerability was found in the Simple Machines forum software.
