The American telecom operator AT&T has a patent obtained on the technology in which the filesharers can detect on its network and them through a scoring system and a rating indicates. Notorious pirates may have to deal with blockages.

The AT&T obtained the patent describes a system on the basis of subscriber reputation scores. In addition, the browsing habits of internet subscribers is monitored and if detected is that they are guilty of downloading illegal material, is the score adjusted, as writes TorrentFreak.

If within the monitoring system, a certain score is exceeded, the provider, the subscriber automatically penalize. So he would be transferred to a subnetwork that has no access to piratensites more to get. Also can a message be sent to a copyright owner, or governmental authority.

It is unclear whether AT&T, one of the largest internet providers in the U.S., the patented system applies or will apply. It is known that the isp is full commitment to an active role of the provider in anti-piracy measures. So, earlier this year announced that the company, the download traffic of its users monitors; AT&T would be especially the bittorrentverkeer via, presumably, deep packet inspection to monitor. For this technology, the provider also already own a patent obtained.
