AMD released its latest apu series announced, but the introduction of this generation accellerated processing units code-named Kaveri follows until mid-January 2014. The apu’s are mainly on the graphic plane become more powerful.

The Kaveri-apus consist of a combination of x86 cores and gpu cores, and follow the Richland-apus. For Kaveri has AMD’s latest cpu architecture, Steamroller, deployed, and the gpu-cores exist for the first time, from Graphics Core Next cores. Details about all the products gave AMD not yet: that would have to wait. During CES 2014, a fair that in the first week of January takes place, promises AMD Kaveri officially introduce. The first processors for desktops with FM2+motherboards, would be on January 14, should be available.

Depending on the model, the Kaveri-apus feature up to four Steamroller cores, arranged in two modules with shared L2 cache and up to 512 streamprocessors, spread over eight GCN-modules. Kaveri makes use of AMD’s huma technology, which means that the working memory by both the cpu and gpu can be approached. Also AMD’s hsa technology is for the first time in this generation of apu’s have been implemented. So would the cpu and gpu cores should be able to work together.

Although the specifications of all the apu types are not yet known, are those of one model be released, reports including Anandtech. The A10-7850K has four Steamroller cores on 3.7 GHz tap, and the 512 streamprocessors have a clock speed of 720MHz. That would be good for 856Gflops, that a demonstration system was capable of Battlefield 4 at 1080p with Medium settings with 28-40fps on the screen. What number of streamprocessors means of Anandtech for the gpu part of the apu the compared to Radeon HD 7750.
