The photos show Pureview camera of Nokia’s 6″phone with 16 megapixels

There are pictures surfaced of the great smartphone from Nokia with a 6″screen. The phone has a 16 megapixel camera, which uses the same oversampling technology as the Lumia 1020 and 808 PureView to 5 megapixel photos.

The photos published by The Verge show, inter alia, the design, the About page, and the camera interface of the unannounced smartphone. The Lumia 1520 runs on Windows Phone GDR3, which is 1080p screens and quadcore processors supports. The Verge reports that the American provider AT&T phone with 6″screen within a few weeks it will start to sell.

The 1520 has a full hd screen and features a 16 megapixel camera. Using oversampling, a technology that Nokia used in its Lumia 1020 and 808 Pureview, takes the user 5 megapixel photos with 16-megapixel sensor: the image information from multiple pixels is used for a pixel, so noise is reduced.

The photos suggest that the phone for about 158x79mm large. Especially the bezel on the sides of the screen would thus very narrow: the screen is such a 74mm wide. It is the first time that Nokia has a phone would release with such a large screen. The biggest Lumia, the 625 has a 4.7″screen. More expensive Lumia’s have a 4.5″screen.

It is unclear when Nokia the 1520 would be present. The manufacturer has recently in the Netherlands, the 925 was released and will be available soon with the camera phone Lumia 1020, with a 41 megapixel camera. Microsoft takes the telefoondivisie of Nokia. Then will the name Nokia from the Lumia phones disappear.
