NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory is working on a robot that is not in the space should be used, but a feature need to get on earth. RoboSimian, as the robot is called, for rescue operations in difficult to access area to be used.

Meanwhile the construction of RoboSimian in such an advanced stage that the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the robot wants to participate in the Darpa Robotics Challenge. Also left the research lab of NASA to record a video in which the ape-like robot to show what he is capable of. So can RoboSimian pull himself up to a pole and objects very precisely manipulate. In the longer term, the robot complex tasks can be accomplished, including climbing a ladder and even a vehicle control. Of that performance has JPL still no footage; simulations show the proposed actions.

RoboSimian is composed of a torso with four limbs. The limbs are identical, making the robot both forward and reverse operation. The four ‘hands’ of RoboSimian have been developed at Stanford university and consist of two ‘fingers’ and ‘thumb’. Thus, the robot including a tool to hold and use. The robot must be in december proved themselves during the physical tests. During that contest, to which several other teams participate, must also be Atlas, a humanoid robot, to compete.
