Dell introduces the Latitude 7000 series-ultrabooks

Dell has new laptops in its business Latitude series released. The laptops in the 7000 series are ultrabooks with schermdiagonalen of 12.5″ and 14″, but the ultrabooks have, as yet, displays with low resolution.

The 7000-series was announced in may, but Dell has the 7240 and 7440 only now in his online store with an estimated delivery time in the last week of August. Both laptops have a display with a fairly low resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels; in the future the two models, however, also with fullhd-screens and touchscreentechniek available. The 7440 is already with fullhd screen available, but does not yet support touch. When the fullhd display and touchscreen will be available, is not yet known.

Both ultrabooks have a Haswell processor, the Intel i5-4200U, on board and combine that with 4GB of ram. A loose video card is not available and as the operating system will default to Windows 8 Pro included. The Latitude 7440 comes with a 500GB hard disk, while the 7240 only with a ssd of 128GB can be equipped. The 12″laptop is equipped with a 31wattuur battery and weighs about 1.35 kilograms, while the 14″variant with a 34wattuur-battery is equipped with 1.6 kilos heavier. The 7240 is 20mm thick; the 7440 is 21mm thick.

Both laptops include three usb 3.0 ports, and a gigabitnetwerkaansluiting in the predominantly aluminum body. Also, audio ports, minidisplayport, hdmi and a docking connector. The 12″-Latitude, with default configuration costs from August 22, approximately 1102 euro, while the 14″-variant 1136 euros.
