Publisher Apogee Software on July 31, the new version of Rise of the Triad on the market. The remake is being made by Interceptor Entertainment and only appears as a download for Windows. The game costs $ 15 and is available via Steam.
Apogee Software, a spin-off of 3D Realms, announced that the new version of Rise of the Triad from the 31st July to download. In addition, get the one that the game already now order the Apogee Throwback Pack, a set of four classic games, that for 10 dollars also for sale separately. The pre-order bonus consists of the original versions of Rise of the Triad: Dark War, Extreme Rise of the Triad expansion pack, Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold and Blake Stone: Planet Strike, all games from the 90s of the last century.
The remake is made by the Danish Interceptor Entertainment. The studio makes use of Unreal Engine 3.0, although the modern engine used to the game a very old-fashioned appearance. Just as in the original, the player can choose from five different characters to the campaign to go through. Also weapons such as the Flamewall, Firebomb, Split Missile, Drunk Missile and Excalibat are back. The campaign consists of 20 levels and the game is in multiplayer to play. While playing can furthermore be selected between the original soundtrack and a new heavy-metalversie. The game is for 15 dollars to download via Steam, GoG, Green Man Gaming and the own shop of Apogee.
Rise of Triads was released in 1994 for DOS. The game was originally an expansion to Wolfenstein 3D. He would be like Rise of the Triad: Wolfenstein 3D Part II come on the market. When Wolfenstein 3D developer id Software are interested in the project lost, decided to Apogee to the expansion as a standalone game on the market. Apogee was the name of Wolfenstein. The game appeared as shareware.
