Since the Ipv6 Launch in 2012, is the largest part of popular web sites with ipv6 to achieve, the OECD. In the Netherlands, which is 45,36 percent; in Belgium, something more, 46,56 percent. It should be noted that the OECD is the list of the 500 most popular web sites, having regard to the figures of Alexa, which is a few reliable method. Alexa measures the popularity of websites with a special toolbar, and not from a representative sample.

The roll-out of ipv6 is important. The number of ipv4 addresses is running low; a transition to ipv6 is seen as the only option to use the internet to grow. Where there are approximately 4.3 billion ipv4 addresses are ipv6 addresses are significantly higher. There are around 340 sextiljoen ip addresses – that is, a number of 39 digits, which means that every person on earth a lot more ipv6 addresses available than there are total ipv4 addresses. A disadvantage however, is that ipv4 and ipv6 packets are not compatible; therefore, it is necessary that the whole of the internet, the new protocol is in use.
