EA stops Online Pass

Electronic Arts will stop its Online Pass system, which was intended to allow the resale of games to discourage. No new game will make use of Online Pass, the American game publisher announced.

The American company says compared to VentureBeat, the decision to have taken as a result of feedback from players. The controversial system was hardly popular among gamers. When a new game got to the players a unique code, which was necessary to, for example, the multiplayerfunctionaliteit to unlock. The code was one time only use. Was the game sold, the new buyer re-code purchase.

With the system hoped EA the resale of games to discourage and even to earn some money on the games that have been resold. Different EA games, including the popular Battlefield 3, made use of Online Pass. Not only Electronic Arts, the system, including Activision and Ubisoft to use it. Or that companies also have plans to stop with the Online Pass, is unknown.
