“Top Microsoft forces Windows team to reduce Start-button’

The expected return of the old-fashioned Start button in the first major update for Windows 8 would be largely dictated by the upper management of Microsoft. The Windows team itself would be less enthusiastic about the return.

Last week reported both The Verge as Microsoft-watcher Mary Jo Foley that in Windows 8.1 to directly to the desktop, to boot, and the new Windows 8 start menu to work. Also, Microsoft would intend the traditional Windows Start button to bring back.
